Biodiversity: Swift Boxes

The SWIFTS in BRAMPTON

We have two swift populations in Brampton. Our intention is to raise awareness of these amazing birds and to support residents to make Brampton a swift friendly place.

How is this happening?

Our new Biodiversity Coordinator, Kathy Arthur, saw the need for stopping our swift populations from declining. She found a suitable design for swift boxes from the RSPB and asked Travis Perkins, Brampton for a donation for the wood. She cut the wood up into construction kits and the photo you see is Kathy with the pieces ready for assembly. These will be available at the Brampton Farmers market along with educational leaflets. If you want a swift box please contact enquiries@brampton2zero.org.uk.

Photo shows Kathy showing off her swift box. 40 boxes were distributed this spring.
